Description
This assortment of sanitary PVC fittings covers the direction changes and branch lines that come up most often in a 1/2-inch home plumbing job, without having to buy each piece separately at the hardware store. Ten pieces cover what a typical DIY repair or a small line extension usually calls for.
Features
- Four 90-degree elbows, for tight turns in the line.
- Three tees, for branching a line in two directions.
- Two straight couplings, for joining lengths of pipe of the same diameter.
- One cap, for closing off the end of a line.
- All pieces sized for 1/2-inch sanitary PVC pipe.
- The mix of pieces covers most of the runs a small installation calls for.
- Unit format, approximate weight up to 1 kg.
They install with PVC cement, which is not included in the set: clean the surface of both the pipe and the fitting, apply an even coat of cement to each, and join them with a quarter turn before the cement starts to set. Leave the line out of service for the cure time the cement manufacturer recommends before turning the water back on. It’s good practice to dry-fit the whole run before applying any cement, to confirm the pieces land in the right position and avoid redoing a joint that’s already been glued.
The pieces come loose, with no individual packaging, so it’s worth sorting them by type before starting the job rather than hunting for the right elbow or tee partway through the installation. Keeping any leftover pieces in a separate bag, away from dust and moisture, keeps them ready for the next repair around the house without having to buy a fresh set for one missing elbow.
