The mechanical temperature control, with a simple dial, lets you adjust the cooling depending on the season or how much food is stored, without relying on a digital display that could fail during voltage fluctuations. The three tempered glass shelves can be arranged to fit the height of what you’re storing, and they make cleanup easier since any spill stays contained on the glass instead of dripping onto the shelf below and pooling in a lower drawer. The vegetable drawer keeps fruits and vegetables in a slightly more humid environment than the rest of the fridge, which helps them last longer before wilting. The top freezer, being separate from the main compartment, holds its own temperature without being thrown off every time the refrigeration door opens for something during the day, which helps frozen food keep its texture instead of going through partial thaw cycles.
It uses R600a refrigerant, with less environmental impact than the older R134a, worth knowing if it ever needs service or a recharge down the line.
