Description

This 2.5 kW gasoline generator is the backup built for anyone who needs to keep the basic equipment in a home running during a power outage, without a fixed installation. With a four-stroke engine and pull-cord start, it’s ready to go as soon as it’s out of the box and fueled up.

Features

  • Unit format, single-phase generator rated at 2500 W.
  • Four-stroke gasoline engine with pull-cord start.
  • 15-liter tank for several hours of runtime.
  • Two 120 V outlets plus a 12 V output.
  • Built-in overload protection.

To start it, open the fuel valve, set the choke and pull the starter cord until the engine catches, much like an ordinary yard-tool engine. The 15-liter tank is good for about eight hours of runtime at 50 percent load, enough to get through an overnight outage with a refrigerator, lights and a fan or two connected. The two 120 V outlets let you plug household equipment straight in, while the 12 V output is meant for charging a separate battery. Overload protection cuts the supply if more is connected than the unit can deliver, protecting both the generator and whatever is plugged into it. It’s best run outdoors or somewhere well ventilated, never inside the house, because of the exhaust fumes it produces while running.

It ships assembled, ready to fuel up and use, with carrying handles and wheels if the model includes them, which makes it easier to reposition once it’s out of the box. Given its weight, it’s best stored in a dry, covered space, with the tank empty if it will sit unused for a long stretch, and the fuel valve closed.
