Description
This roll of THHN 12-gauge wire is the conductor an electrician reaches for on general-purpose residential circuits: outlets, lighting and short branch runs inside conduit. A continuous 100 meters on one roll avoids splices that a mid-sized job doesn’t need, and it also makes it easier to count material before starting.
Features
- Soft copper conductor, 12 AWG gauge.
- PVC insulation with an additional nylon jacket.
- Rated for conduit installations up to 600 V.
- Resistant to moisture, gasoline and oil.
- The soft copper bends easily around tight turns inside boxes and conduit.
- Supplied on a 100-meter roll, unit format.
- Approximate weight 5 to 10 kg.
It installs inside conduit or EMT, respecting the maximum conductor fill for the tube diameter set by local electrical code, and connects with wire connectors or electrical tape at each junction. The nylon jacket helps the wire slide through the conduit and adds a layer of mechanical protection beyond what PVC insulation alone provides, which helps on long runs or ones with several bends. Before pulling the wire through, it’s worth checking that the cut ends of the conduit have no burrs left, since those can scrape the insulation as the wire passes through.
The roll ships on its own cardboard spool, which also doubles as a rough gauge of how much wire is left without having to unwind the whole roll. Store it somewhere dry, away from direct heat, so the insulation doesn’t lose flexibility over time, and keep it on its original spool between uses so it doesn’t tangle the next time it’s unwound. Labeling the spool with the circuit or room it’s meant for also saves time when several rolls of wire are on hand for the same job.
