Description

When a job calls for fastening dozens of pieces of wood, particleboard or thin sheet metal, stopping to pre-drill for every single screw turns into the real bottleneck. This box of 500 one-inch self-tapping screws is built for exactly that: repetitive fastening where speed and quantity matter as much as a clean finish.

Features

  • Zinc-plated steel, resistant to surface corrosion.
  • One inch long, flat Phillips head that matches a standard cross-tip driver.
  • Self-tapping point that cuts its own thread, no pre-drilling required.
  • Suited to wood, particleboard and thin sheet metal.
  • 500-count dispenser box, built to release screws a few at a time.
  • The zinc finish makes them easy to tell apart from uncoated screws mixed in a toolbox.
  • Unit format, approximate weight 1 to 2 kg.

To drive one, set the tip on the marked point and turn with a screwdriver or a drill set to driving mode until the head sits flush with the surface; on particleboard, keep the speed no higher than needed, since the material can chip around the screw. On thin sheet metal, a light tap with a hammer first helps mark the entry point before you start turning. Working through a large batch, it also helps to check now and then that the driver tip hasn’t worn down, since a worn tip slips and can chew up the screw head.

The dispenser box cuts down on the usual mess of loose hardware: it opens through a slot that releases a few screws at a time and closes again to keep the rest from scattering loose through the toolbox. That design makes it easy to gauge how many screws are left before starting the next stretch of work.
