Description
This knob lock for interior doors is the standard choice for bedrooms and bathrooms, where you need to be able to lock from inside without that meaning you’re stuck in an emergency. The latch mechanism closes the door on a push, and the interior locking button only engages when privacy is needed.
Features
- Unit format, knob lock with latch.
- Interior locking button for bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Fits doors 35 to 45 millimeters thick.
- Standard 54-millimeter bore.
- Includes strike plate, screws and two keys.
Installation goes into the standard 54-millimeter bore that most interior doors already have, so on a new door it’s just a matter of following the strike plate template to place the screws, and on a door that already had a lock, the same hole can usually be reused. It fits doors between 35 and 45 millimeters thick, the usual range for wood or particle-board interior doors. The locking button is pressed from inside to secure privacy, and it releases automatically when the knob is turned from the same side or opened with the emergency key from outside, which keeps anyone from getting locked in by accident. The two included keys are meant precisely for that emergency opening, not everyday use, since the knob doesn’t need a key to open from outside under normal conditions, only when the button has been pressed from inside.
It ships in a box with the lock, strike plate, mounting screws and two keys, along with installation instructions. Keep it in its box until installation time, and store one of the keys somewhere outside the room, such as a kitchen drawer, for emergency access.
