Before painting, it helps to lightly sand any areas with peeling old paint and wipe off the dust with a cloth, so the new coat bonds evenly. Apply it with a roller on large surfaces and a brush for edges and corners, thinning the first coat slightly with water as the container directs, and applying the second coat undiluted for the final finish. Let each coat dry for the time stated on the label before applying the next, so the color comes out even without roller marks showing through. Being water-based, tools clean up with soap and water as soon as you’re done, no mineral spirits or other solvents needed, and the smell in the room is much milder than an oil paint, handy when painting a house that’s still lived in.
One gallon covers 30 to 35 square meters over two coats, enough for a full medium-sized room. It ships in a metal pail with an airtight lid; once opened, close it well after each use and store it upright, away from direct sun and extreme cold, so it doesn’t separate or dry out before its time.
